Trump, Tylenol, and Autism

The Trump administration is planning to claim that Tylenol during pregnancy could cause autism. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is leading this effort, and it’s the first time the federal government is raising this idea.

The problem? The science doesn’t support it. Some studies show a possible link, but correlation isn’t causation. A huge Swedish study with over 2.5 million kids found no causal connection. Health authorities like the WHO, European Medicines Agency, and American College of Obstetricians still say Tylenol is safe when used carefully.

Doctors warn that this kind of scare could backfire—untreated fevers can be dangerous. Tylenol’s maker denies any proven link. Experts see this as more political than scientific.

This is a clear example of Trump trying to tell us how to live our lives and playing God. Him and Kennedy are making big health pronouncements they clearly don’t understand, which is dangerous.

Bottom line: there’s no solid proof Tylenol causes autism. Use it cautiously if needed, don’t panic.
