Trump Doesn’t Need Evidence — He’s Already Building His Monument

Let’s be honest — when it comes to Donald Trump, it doesn’t take much imagination to believe he’s plotting a monument to himself. The man’s name is on towers, golf courses, and hotels all over the world. Now he’s floating plans for something called the Independence Arch — a massive structure in Washington, D.C., that bears an uncanny resemblance to the Arc de Triomphe in Paris¹.

He claims it’s to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, but let’s not kid ourselves. Trump’s not exactly known for humility. Reports say he showed off miniature models of the project at a private event², boasting that it would be “the most beautiful arch in the world.” And if you’ve followed Trump long enough, you know that “beautiful” usually means “about me.”

Officially, the arch is being described as a “national monument to freedom,” but the symbolism can’t be ignored. It’s being designed to stand near the Lincoln Memorial⁶ — essentially putting Trump’s creation within eyesight of one of America’s greatest presidents. Coincidence? Maybe. But given Trump’s track record, it feels more like a calculated power move.

Critics are already calling it the Arc de Trump⁵, a not-so-subtle jab at the former president’s ego. There are even reports that the same donors funding his latest White House ballroom project⁴ could be involved in this new venture. That’s not illegal — but it sure raises eyebrows about who’s really paying for this “tribute to America.”

Of course, there’s no concrete proof that Trump is secretly planning a shrine to himself. But do we really need proof? This is the same man who’s spent years rewriting history — literally branding everything he touches. His followers might see it as patriotism. The rest of us see it for what it is: idolatry wrapped in red, white, and blue.

For Christians, this kind of self-glorification should make us pause. The Bible reminds us that “Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.” (Proverbs 16:18) When a leader puts himself above humility, above truth, and above God — it’s only a matter of time before the monument he’s building comes crashing down.

So, maybe there’s no proof yet that Trump’s secretly building a monument for himself. But given his history, his vanity, and his obsession with being adored, I wouldn’t put it past him. After all, Trump doesn’t need permission — or even evidence — to start carving his own legacy. He’s already doing it, one oversized structure at a time.
