Ladies and Gentlemen: the President of the USA
Ladies & Gentlemen,
Please meet the President of the United States:
1. Flew on Epstein’s plane at least seven times. Just friends, I guess.
2. Pleaded the Fifth more than 400 times in a single deposition. Nothing says “innocent” quite like refusing to answer hundreds of questions about your own business.
3. 34 felony convictions. A record most people would call disqualifying.
4. 91 criminal charges.
5. Accused of sexual misconduct or assault by at least 26 women. But sure, tell me again how he’s a great guy.
6. 6 corporate bankruptcies. The self-proclaimed greatest businessman alive somehow keeps running out of money.
7. 5 draft deferments. Funny how the toughest guy in the room never actually showed up for duty.
8. 4 criminal indictments. Not two. Not three. Four.
9. 2 impeachments. A club of exactly one president.
10. 2 of his companies convicted of criminal tax fraud. Convicted. Not accused. Convicted.
11. 1 fake university shut down. 1 fake charity shut down. Even his charity became part of the controversy.
12. Paid $25 million to settle the Trump University fraud lawsuits because scamming people who believed in you eventually costs money.
13. Ordered to pay $5 million in the first E. Jean Carroll verdict, followed by another $83.3 million in the second case.
14. Ordered to pay $2 million over the misuse of his charitable foundation.
15. Found liable for business fraud and originally hit with a penalty exceeding $450 million, although the monetary penalty was later thrown out on appeal while the fraud finding itself remained.
16. Presided over major increases in the federal deficit during his first term. So much for all that talk about fiscal responsibility.
17. The federal debt-to-GDP ratio climbed dramatically during his first term, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.
18. Presided over what was, at the time, the largest single-day point drop in Dow Jones history during the COVID market crash.
19. Set the record for the longest federal government shutdown in U.S. history during his first term: 35 days.
20. Added trillions of dollars to the national debt. Somebody remind me who the party of fiscal discipline is again.
21. Pushed through enormous defense spending while the national debt continued climbing.
22. Oversaw major reductions in the federal workforce after returning to office.
23. Pardoned or commuted the sentences of roughly 1,500 January 6 defendants on his first day back in office, including people convicted of serious offenses connected to the Capitol attack.
24. His family's cryptocurrency ventures have raised serious questions about conflicts of interest and presidential ethics while he has been in office.
25. His administration deployed National Guard forces into American cities at considerable taxpayer expense.
26. His tariffs have raised concerns among economists about higher costs being passed along to American consumers. Tariffs aren't simply a bill that foreign countries pay; American importers pay them, and some of those costs can ultimately reach consumers.
27. His approval ratings have remained deeply polarized, with substantial portions of the country dissatisfied with his performance.
None of this requires a conspiracy theory or something somebody posted in a group chat. Much of it comes directly from court records, government records, election history, and Trump's own public record.
So the next time somebody tells you to relax and “give him a chance,” ask them exactly how much of a record they need to see before they decide he's already had plenty of chances.
